Shooting Film

Years ago I bought a film camera for $10 from Goodwill. The camera has sat on a bookshelf collecting dust or used as a prop in a photoshoot. I came across a youtube video about shooting film, and it hit me. I have a film camera and lens, and I've never used it.

I've always feared shooting film because of the cost of film, batteries, and development. I am putting fear to the side. I decided to take advantage of being home to learn and play. Similar to what sparked my Quarantine Creativity.

My husband and I went to the beach and Wynwood to shoot. I shot with a Nikon 5100 in the past, and It was still a learning curve using the Nikon N65. The focus modes and exposure buttons are so small. I dropped off the film at Thackers Film Labs in Fort Lauderdale and received the scan via We Transfer by the end of the day. I made a few adjustments in Photoshop.

I enjoyed shooting the film. I plan to learn more and shoot more: check out the images below and all the camera details.
