My Skincare Favorites

Do you ever look at old pictures, and you notice your skin glow-up? I saw a picture from three-plus years ago when my skin hit rock bottom. For years I struggled with on again off again hormonal acne. I turned into a product hoarder searching for the solution that would cure my breakouts and reduce hyperpigmentation but to no success.

I visited numerous dermatologists and prescribed potent retinol that isn’t covered by my insurance. I was determined to find a solution to my skin woes. After years of testing products, I have found a skincare regimen that works for my skin.

My skin type is Normal -Oily. My oily targeted areas are in my T-zone (forehead and nose). Check out my skincare favorites below.

Cleanser

Jacq's Healing Face Cleanser, this product has organic ingredients and leaves my skin feeling refreshed.

Spot Treatment

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is an excellent spot treatment to use on any breakouts forming. Add the lotion to the area and let it dry and do the work.

Serum

Urban RX Even Tone Super Glow Serum evens skin, firms, and minimizes dark spots.

Night cream

Ole Henrikson Goodnight Glow Retin-ALT Sleeping Crème- This night cream leaves my skin hydrated and glowing in the mornings.

Moisturizer

Jacq's Nourishing Face Moisturizer is lightweight and packed with Vitamins C & E leaving my skin hydrated and nourished.

Sunscreen

Glossier & Black Girl Sunscreen

Check out my previous blog post here for more details on these sunscreens.

Treatment

Face Steamer- Use a face steamer twice a month. After steaming, I do minor extractions around my nose. I purchased this steamer from Amazon. I am not a fan of this steamer because it does leak, but it gets the job done.

Urban Skin RX Even Tone Cleansing Bar 3 in 1 Treatment- I occasionally use this as a cleanser when I am not using my Jacq's cleanser. I mostly use it as a treatment in the shower by applying it all over the face for three minutes.

Exfoliator

Ole Henrikson Walnut Scrub- Having an oily T-Zone leaves me with occasional whiteheads and build up. The Walnut Scrub is a great exfoliator to smooth out the skin.

The Ordinary AHA + BHA Peel- This Peel is the GOAT. This peel has a slight tingle and leaves your skin smooth. As the bottle indicates, you should not leave this on longer than 10mins.
