Blog Gear
I've always had a disposable camera or digital camera snapping the most random moments. Taking photos and dropping off the film to get printed brought me joy. After college, my first job was Visual Merchandiser for a Retailer, I enjoyed the work, but I didn't enjoy the company antics and management. One random day after work, I went to Best Buy and strolled around the electronics section and played with the cameras on display. I picked up a Nikon 3000 and fell in love with natural user ability and purchased my first DSLR Camera.
Through the years, I upgraded camera gear, and I found what works for me and my blog. I primarily use my gear for blogging and portraits. Check out my camera gear below. The equipment I use works for me at the moment. When shopping for gear, stay in your budget, and get what works for you. Sometimes a phone, tripod, and natural light is a starting point. I have a running list of things I want to upgrade until I save up more money, I am working with what I have.

Camera
Sony 6100 & Sigma 35mm Lens & Sony 50mm Lens
This camera has 4K capability and audio input to use an external microphone, which I love. I use this camera and lens for my newer YouTube videos. Like this video.
Nikon 5100 & Nikon 35mm 50mm Lens
Since purchasing the Sony, I use the Nikon less. I took a lot of self-portraits with this camera and lens. The downfall with this model is the focus isn't the best, and I have recorded so many videos that weren't in focus. The Nikon 5100 was a great entry DSLR, so I can't complain I learned and developed so much with this camera. I would love to get full-frame Nikon down the road.
Tripod
When I first got into photography, I purchased a heavy-duty aluminum tripod. It is sturdy, and I never experienced any falls or tumbles it is no longer availble online but I have similar. I also have a lightweight tripod and a phone that's easy to take around for quick shoots.

Remote
I have multiple Nikon remotes and 2 iPhone remotes because I always misplace them. Having backups comes in handy. Sony has an app to control the camera and use remote settings.
SD Cards
I've used SanDisk brand SD cards for years, and I haven't had any issues.
Lighting
Neewer Ring Light
Ring Light is excellent because it has a dimmable feature to adjust the amount of brightness need. Check out my post and video about Ringlight Accessories.
Mini Ring Light
I stumbled on this mini ringlight because it was a coupon offer on Amazon its great small and compact if you are traveling light. It is budget friendly if you are saving up for the Neewer Ring Light.
Umbrella Lights
Umbrella Lights are affordable lights. They can get hot with extended use—overall excellent lighting source.
Backdrop
Backdrop Kit
I purchased my backdrop kit with umbrella lights from someone years ago. Here is one very similar to what I use.
Paper Backdrop
I've loved using Savage backdrop papers. The quality is excellent and adds a pop of color to images.
Camera Bag & Cases
